THE POWER OF FLOWER POLLEN
Flower Pollen
From early history when the Father of Medicine,
Hippocrates, said to “let your food be your medicine and your
medicine be you food” pollen has been known to have a remarkably
positive influence on the human body. Yet most people are not aware
of the story behind pollen, why it has been known as the miracle
food, and how a man in Sweden has devoted his life to making it even
better.
Potent Stuff
Consider how life begins with pollen. Animals live
off plants and plant life begins with fertilization by these
microscopic pollen grains. Pollen is the source of life, with more
important biofactors essential to life than any other nutrient
source. Scientists have identified all 22 amino acids, 27 mineral
salts, and many enzymes in pollen. It is also high in numerous
vitamins, including A, C, D, E and B –complex. Some researchers
believe that pollen contains every substance need to maintain life.
The highly complex pollen molecule is the richest,
full-spectrum source of trace elements, fatty acids, nucleic acids
(DNA, RNA), coenzymes, and prostaglandin precursors (a group of
hormone-like compounds) found in nature. In total, pollen contains
well over 100 biologically-active components. New elements continue
to be discovered with new implications for the health of mankind.
Health Benefits
Most of the health claims that pollen proponents
make can be attributed to the fact that many of its elements act as
catalysis. For example, natural minerals and enzymes in pollen help
to assimilate the parts of food that normally would be eliminated as
waste.
Researchers have reasoned, therefore, that pollen
builds up ones immunity system. This in turn prevents many illnesses
resulting from low resistance, including colds, viruses, and
allergies.
Because pollen is believed to aid the assimilation
of food and build up one's immunities, it has been associated with
improved digestion and extending human life span. I has been
reported, for example, that a large percentage of the oldest people
in remote parts of the world have been beekeepers who keep the
darkest (pollen-rich) honey at the bottom of the bee hives for
themselves.
Although it seems illogical, pollen has been found
to aid in both weight gain and weight reduction. “As it improves
digestion, pollen decreases hunger sensation, thereby decreasing the
urge to eat. And by also feeding the glands that normalize
metabolism, weight gain--or weight loss-- may also result as needed.
